We are looking for a security officer to join our security team. The Longleat security team provides a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and House collection 24 hours a day, with a focus on providing a warm welcome to guests whilst helping to deter crime and de-escalate confrontational situations.Key duties:To liaise with colleagues at all levels on security issues across the EstateTo maintain a friendly and supportive approach to solving issuesTo ensure security issues are dealt with calmly and efficiently with minimal disruption to the on-going business and our customersTo actively support our colleagues and customers in the event of lost persons and lost propertyTo provide rapid support for both colleagues and customers when requestedTo communicate clearly, courteously and effectively with all radio usersTo positively support the company’s growing cooperate identity, to liaise with other departments in delivering functions and events and to provide out of hours security for these as directed by your line ManageTo meet, and exceed the Company’s customer service charter.To provide initial security advice and guidance to other teams when requestedTo openly respond to customers’ non-security needs when approached, providing a friendly and helpful attitudeTo communicate clearly, courteously and effectively with all customers, resolving all concerns and questions satisfactorily and when required, discreetly.Security duties include but are not limited to:Monitor CCTV, operate CCTV cameras and associated equipment, alarms, road barriers and House entry in compliance with legislation and ensuring usage in a safe and professional mannerMonitor park cameras and alert external security where requiredMaintain logs of all visitors, incidents and any other required recordsOversee contractor movement to the estate Minimalize potential security threats through patrollingCarry out pre-defined routines, taking personal ownership of issues whilst acting within strict guidelines for responses and behavioursRespond to alarm situations in the house in a timely mannerHighlight and advise other departments on potential security risks You will have:Proven security industry experienceSIA security licence A full valid UK, clean, driving licence Key competencies for the role are:Self- sufficiency in working remotely and without direct supervision, with a can do attitude.Computer literate with good working knowledge of M.S Word and ExcelWilling to work on a variable shift pattern of 12 hour night shifts, with some short notice shift changesAble to demonstrate a proactive approach to problems as they arise, ensuring they are followed through to a positive conclusionEffective team player, with the ability to share information and workloadConfident and authoritative demeanour, whilst still maintaining a customer focused approachEnergetic, friendly, and enthusiastic, also physically fit to meet the physical demands of the roleExcellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to listen and communicate at all levels, using language, eye contact and body language appropriately and effectively.Analytical and methodical approach to problemsAble to act quickly and decisively and to work under pressure to meet deadlinesReliable and punctualA little about usAt Longleat we offer a day out like no other, our guests are invited to step into the Thynn family home where they will find the finest example of Elizabethan Architecture.
