** IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS VACANCY THAT YOU HOLD A VALID FORKLIFT LICENSE FOR THIS POSITION - WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT IF IT IS EXPIRED BY 3 MONTHS**
This role primarily involves manual handling, picking and packing orders, stock counting, and goods-in operations. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, be responsible for warehouse maintenance, and assist by cutting plastic sheets for Vac forming operations. Additionally, they will support the Warehouse Supervisor in various duties to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking and Packing: Accurately pick and pack orders in accordance with company procedures.
- Stock Control: Perform regular stock counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and report discrepancies.
- Goods In: Receive and check incoming deliveries, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Manual Handling: Carry out safe and effective manual handling of goods and materials.
- Forklift Operations: Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, conducting pre-use checks and reporting any issues.
- Kit Jobs: Cut plastic sheets to required specifications.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Assist with general warehouse tasks such as cleaning and minor assemblies.
- Safety Compliance: Complete daily forklift and ladder check sheets, ensuring equipment safety and adherence to regulations.
- Team Support: Act as the right-hand person to the Warehouse Supervisor, assisting in all aspects of warehouse operations.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Forklift license (Counterbalance and/or Reach) is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfilment.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks and lift heavy items safely.
- Experience in stock counting and inventory control is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
