Chesterfield Borough Council is looking for a Housing Allocations Team Leader, which is a new role based in the Housing Management Service.

The main responsibilities of this important role are to:

-provide an effective high quality housing allocations service that ensures the best use of the council’s housing stock
-give the best possible service to individuals and families seeking rehousing, specifically engaged to meet the needs of customers with additional support needs
-deliver an effective and efficient customer focused service, to ensure lettings to sustainable tenancies in sustainable neighbourhoods
-help to ensure empty council properties are relet as quickly and efficiently as possible

We’re looking for someone with:

-a comprehensive understanding of legislation and regulations governing the allocation of social housing, and tenancy changes including mutual exchange, succession and assignment of tenancies
-great leadership skills
-a strong desire to provide the best possible service to our tenants and ensure they have a positive experience and successful tenancy

While this role is primarily based at our Stonegravels Depot, we support hybrid working, with some meetings held virtually. Due to the operational nature of the post, regular presence on-site and across our neighbourhoods is expected.
