About the role
We have a phenomenal opportunity for an expert Procurement Manager to join the Tesco procurement team!
This role will require an extensive procurement category background with particular strengths and experience in the labour services category preferred.
This role will be pivotal in delivering commercial perfection to support meaningful business budgets!
You will be responsible for
- Developing and delivering procurement strategies. Ensuring positive relationships with suppliers & partners continue to be developed and maintained internationally.
- Developing and implement projects which truly support the Tesco transformation priorities.
- Opportunity for individual development in procurement with exposure to fast paced transformational projects.
- Writing and delivering the Procurement plan for the services and products you are responsible for.
- Crafting improvements in existing services, look for specialisation and automation improvements.
- Be the go-to person for our partners on the development of the strategy.
- Leading supplier reviews, acting as a customer concern point for contract-related issues.
- Developing strong working relationships with the partner base (internally and external suppliers) to understand and influence requirements.
- Reviewing existing and potential new suppliers and assess their sustainability to supply Tesco, minimising risk, and optimising service.
You will need
- Strong commercial competence and negotiation skills.
- Great interpersonal skills and experience of cross functional working & partner engagement.
- Consistent track record of delivering change through influencing and challenging the norm.
- High standards of ethics and personal integrity and development of self and others.
- At least three years procurement / buying experience preferably in Retail/Labour Services
