We are recruiting Social Workers at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: X1 37 Hours, X1 18.5 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent / Full Time / Part Time
Location: Various locations across the Borough

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Adult Social Services Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £18,969 - £40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

There are exciting opportunities to join our well-established Older People Social Work teams, covering the North and South of Caerphilly County borough.



We are an enthusiastic and dedicated service who strive to support older adults and their carers, who are in need care and support.



The teams deliver services to older adults, who have mental health or physical health needs. A high proportion of our work involves supporting those who have a dementia diagnosis.



The post will involve working with older adults to help them find appropriate solutions at times of difficulty, as well as in the long term. It will also entail safeguarding individuals from abuse and neglect.



The post holder will undertake assessments, reviews and also contribute to the duty rota within the team. Those applying will need to have a good understanding of the application of the principles & eligibility criteria set out in the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.



The team has an established culture of teamwork where staff are very supportive of each other.

For the role, we ask that you have:

A Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification
Knowledge of the Social Services and Well being Act (Wales), Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty legislation
A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit clients and attend meetings
