About

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the busiest and most modern Emergency Departments (EDs) in the country, combining frontline emergency care with experience in a Physician Response Unit delivering care in the community. The role offers exposure to both hospital-based and pre-hospital emergency medicine, allowing clinicians to develop a broad and highly valuable skill set across diverse patient care environments.

This position is ideal for individuals looking to expand their emergency medicine experience beyond the traditional hospital setting. As Community Emergency Medicine (CEMS) continues to develop within the pre-hospital sector, this role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an innovative and evolving field. You will work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams, develop advanced clinical decision-making skills in challenging environments, and build valuable experience that will support future career progression in Emergency Medicine, Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM), and acute care specialities.

Key Benefits:

• Work across both a high-performing Emergency Department and a Physician Response Unit.

• Gain specialist pre-hospital emergency care experience.

• Develop advanced assessment and autonomous decision-making skills.

• Be part of an innovative and growing area of emergency medicine.

• Enhance your CV and future career opportunities within emergency and urgent care services.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

· high-quality care for all,

· being a great place to work,

· partnerships for impact, and

· research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

· we are compassionate,

· we are proud,

· we are inclusive, and

· we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.

The Emergency Department atLeicester Royal Infirmaryis one of the largest and busiest in the UK, delivering high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population while maintaining strong standards of clinical performance. As part of our ambitious vision, we are committed to becoming one of the country's leading providers of acute and emergency care over the coming years.

This is an exciting time to join our team. We have recently opened a state-of-the-art Emergency Care environment that brings together the Emergency Department and Admissions Services into a single, integrated patient pathway. The facility includes dedicated areas for initial assessment, minor injuries and illnesses, majors, resuscitation, as well as specialist units including the Acute Medical Unit, Acute Care Bay, Emergency Frailty Unit, Acute Frailty Unit and Emergency Decisions Unit. We are passionate about supporting the growth and development of our clinicians. Our dedicated Education Team, led by a Consultant Educator and supported by senior registrars and administrative staff, is focused on delivering high-quality teaching, training and career development opportunities.

As a Senior Trust Grade Doctor, you will have access to a comprehensive educational programme, including:
