Job description

About

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners assess and support patients with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery. Treatment interventions aim to support clinical improvement, recovery, and social inclusion, with a focus on maintaining employment, returning to the labour market, and accessing training opportunities. PWPs contribute by delivering evidence-based, low-intensity psychological treatments, complemented by information, advice, and signposting. The service primarily provides psychoeducational groups, alongside interventions such as guided self-help and computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (cCBT), as well as links to employment, training, and benefits support. Low-intensity treatments are delivered within prescribed time limits via face-to-face, telephone, and video sessions. PWPs are expected to operate in a stepped-care, high-volume environment, managing a large caseload and organising their time effectively to maximise patient support. The post holder will work with people from diverse backgrounds and should be committed to equal opportunities. They may be required to work in various community settings and must be prepared to be flexible in their working arrangements.
