About

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a friendly, organised and customer-focused Reception and Clinic Support Assistant to join the Thrive Health and Wellbeing Centre within the Faculty of Health, Community and Life Sciences. This is a varied front-facing role, providing reception, visitor support and administrative services within a unique environment that brings together teaching, research, clinical practice and community engagement.

As the first point of contact for patients, service users, students, staff, visitors and partner organisations, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming, professional and inclusive experience for everyone who enters the Centre. You will support the smooth day-to-day operation of reception services, assist with clinic administration and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the Centre remains safe, accessible and responsive to the needs of its diverse users.

This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in reception, customer service or administrative support who enjoys working with people, managing a range of priorities and contributing to an environment focused on health, wellbeing and community engagement.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Dr Jayde Whittingham-Dowd, Head of Clinical and Technical Services (J.K.Whittingham-Dowd1@salford.ac.uk) or Christopher Ollett (C.A.ollett@salford.ac.uk)

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for candidates who can clearly demonstrate:

  • Experience of working in a busy reception, front-of-house or customer service environment, delivering a professional and welcoming service to a wide range of people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond confidently and sensitively to enquiries in person, by telephone and via email.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications and digital systems to maintain records and support administrative processes.
  • A commitment to delivering an excellent visitor and customer experience, alongside an understanding of confidentiality, inclusion and accessibility.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while remaining adaptable and responsive to changing service needs.

Please note: Applications should provide clear examples of experience in reception, customer service or administration, demonstrating how you have delivered excellent customer experiences, managed competing priorities and supported the effective day-to-day operation of a busy service.

**Please note this opportunity may close early depending on applicant volume.**
