About

International Service Engineer

A position for an experienced Service Engineer is now available for a specialist instrumentation manufacture to support their growing global customer base.

This role will suit someone with at least 2-3 years of experience as a service engineer wanting to develop a career in a high-tech industry.

Ability to travel globally at relatively short notice is essential for this role.

The role is UK based on their R&D and manufacturing site in Oxfordshire.

You will have the opportunity to work on leading-edge systems, from installation through to equipment and application support.

Technical and engineering skills

• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Experience installing, commissioning and maintaining industrial machinery.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with PLCs, CNC controls and industrial automation.
• Ability to carry out preventative maintenance and equipment upgrades.

Software, Controls and IT Knowledge

• Good general computer literacy and confidence using Windows-based operating systems.
• Experience with industrial machine control software and operator interfaces.
• Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot machine software and control systems.
• Understanding of PLC software, CNC controls and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to configure machine parameters, settings and operating programmes.
• Understanding of data communication between machine hardware, software and control systems.
• Ability to provide remote technical support and assist customers with software-related issues.

International working requirements

• Willingness to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice.
• Comfortable working away from home for extended periods.
• Flexible approach to working hours to accommodate international customers.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Good written and spoken English.

Qualifications & Experience

• HNC/HND or Degree level in Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or Physics
• Candidates who do not hold formal qualifications will also be considered, if they can demonstrate an appropriate level of skills and experience.
• 2-3 years industrial experience in a hi-tech environment
