Search Recruitment are currently working with an International family run manufacturing company based in Oldham who are on the lookout for a health and safety manager to join them in their exiting period of growth. This a permanent position for the right candidate. Our client is looking for an approachable health and safety manager that is open to discussions regarding company

health and safety and training. This is a great opportunity to join a market leader that truly care for their staff.

What you will focus on

• Owning day-to-day Health & Safety performance for the site.
• Embedding a positive safety culture through engagement and communication.
• Keeping the site compliant with UK Health & Safety legislation and internal standards.
• Aligning Health & Safety activity with quality and environmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Health & Safety on site, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and maintaining safety policies and registers.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, complete RIDDOR reporting and drive corrective actions through to closure.
• Plan and deliver Health & Safety inspections and internal audits, then track and close out resulting actions.
• Design and deliver Health & Safety training (for example manual handling, PPE, COSHH and fire safety) and keep accurate compliance records.
• Chair site Health & Safety meetings and toolbox talks, and contribute to global calls to share performance and learn from best practice.
• Maintain and improve the Health & Safety management system, support external audits and inspections, and keep documentation and data up to date
