IT Asset Manager

York St John University



£33,533 to £40,931 per year





The team

ITS (Innovation and Technology Services) is the University's IT directorate, responsible for the maintenance and onward development of IT Services that support the University's business needs and the development and design of innovative new services in support of the University's Digital Strategy.

The role

This is a new specialist role for the University, reporting into the Head of Architecture and Change and is responsible for the IT asset management function across a diverse team of 25+ staff, providing support and subject matter expertise

The successful candidate will be experienced in managing IT assets in a large organisation throughout the entire lifecycle. The role will be required to support the development of operational asset management functions, taking the lead in driving the adoption of consistent processes across the IT organisation and participating in continual service improvements. As this is a new role, the implementation of key processes will be required in the early stages.

Required skills and experience

The successful candidate will have

- solid experience of IT asset management in a large organisation.

- extensive experience with an industry standard IT asset management tool.

- extensive experience working with and managing a CMDB.

- an understanding of core IT license agreements.

- established, developed and implemented configuration management processes.

- worked closely with teams to ensure they are skilled with asset management and provided training to fill gaps.

- experience of working closely with auditors and finance teams to complete audits and support FOI responses.

This is a highly demanding role and the post holder will be expected to work to tight deadlines and develop KPIs and metrics.

Additional information

*Interviews to be held on either 7th or 8th December 2022*

We offer flexible working location as part of our Agile working agreement. The post holder will be required to be on campus for a minimum of two day per week due to the nature of this role, with full-time presence during the first few weeks.
